Photo of the sensor.Changes made 12/16/2002:The Amplifier/Filter boards have been changed to my 4-Channel Amp/Filter board. The low gain channels still have a gain of 1 and the high gain channels 200. All six channels have a 20 Hz 8-Pole low-pass filter and a 60 second 1-Pole high-pass filter.Calibration: The sensor was calibrated at Kinemetrics on 1/30/99. All recording channels (*.LCEL, *.LCNL, *.LCZL) are set for a maximum output (+- 32768 A/D counts) of +-2 g's. Each A/D channel's gain was measured to determine the actual sensitivity. Component Files Maximum Output Sensitivity Per Bit E-W *.LCEL +- 1.996 g .06091 mg N-S *.LCNL +- 2.004 g .06115 mg Z *.LCZL +- 1.992 g .06079 mg Filtering: Each channel has the same high and low pass filtering. High-Pass: 1-pole .072 Hz (13.8 second) Butterworth Low-Pass: 6-pole 20 Hz ButterworthHigh Gain Channels: Starting 3/2000 I added 3 more channels from the FBA. These channels (*.LCEH, *.LCNH and *LCZH) go through one of my 3 channel Amp/Filter boards. Each channel has the following characteristics: Gain: 200 High-Pass: 1-order .031 Hz (32 second) Low-Pass: 7 pole 20 Hz Sensitivity: +- .01g full scale (+- 32768 A/D counts) or .304ug (.2981 cm/sec/sec) per bit.See note above regarding new filter settings.
Starting 8/2001 the following sensor names have been changed: Old New Channel *.LC4 *.LCEL Low gain E-W Kinemetrics FBA-23A *.LC5 *.LCNL Low gain N-S Kinemetrics FBA-23A *.LC7 *.LCZL Low gain Z Kinemetrics FBA-23A *.LCE *.LCEH High gain E-W Kinemetrics FBA-23A *.LCN *.LCNH High gain N-S Kinemetrics FBA-23A *.LCZ *.LCZH High gain Z Kinemetrics FBA-23A Also starting around 8/2001 all new event files now end in .PSN
